Wylie Cemetery ~ Wylie, Texas
Located on 5th Street in Wylie (Collin County), we had visited this cemetery in 2003 with no results except that our tape recorder refused to work inside the cemetery. Once outside, it worked fine.

We returned on November 14, 2006 for another investigation, this time resulting in EVP activity,
which can be heard here.

Weather that day was clear, around 75 degrees temperature, 10 - 20 mph wind which sometimes could be picked up on our digital recorder. We did not capture anything of a paranormal nature on film.

What I found interesting was while listening to the playback of one EVP I had recorded. A soft voice whispered what I beleived to be a name...."Tannie". I looked up a listing of individuals interred at this cemetery, and found quite a few people buried there with the first name of "Tennie".

When we investigate and research cemeteries, Jim, who is intuitive, can usually 'feel' something during our investigations. He describes his feelings as a 'pull' towards a certain area where paranormal activity might be. He did not feel anything during this outing, but I am satisfied with the very faint EVP recordings we did record that day.
In all the years we lived up North and investigated multitudes of cemeteries, we had never seen tombstones such as this one, formed in the shape of a tree trunk. It seemed that smaller tree-trunk stones were placed on the graves of infants and children.
We have since found out that tree-trunk gravestones stood for "a life cut short"....and the number of branches cut off symbolized deceased family members.
Larger tree-trunk stones seemed to signify adults. We found this one striking, since it has a roped 'sign' hanging from a cut off branch, which is inscribed with the name of the deceased.
