Aspen Grove Cemetery, Ware Massachusetts
Located off the center of town, this cemetery is (of course) very old and quite large.
We conducted an investigation on April 12, 2002. It was a clear, crisp day with temps in the 40s. Although we didn't capture any EVP activity on tape, we did get a few photos which we thought were interesting.
Above, a bright orb high in the trees.
Below, either this is a very ironic pattern in the bark of this tree,
or its a weird-looking face staring at us....
either way, it was strange to see.
The weird thing about Aspen Grove Cemetery is the large hole at the top of a hill.
In the early 1980s, Jim had rented an apartment at 12 Aspen Street, and clearly remembers an old stone mausoleum sitting on top of this hill.
When we checked it out, there was no such structure to be seen....
only a large grassed-over hole with the remains of a marker.
That's me standing at the top of the hill where the mausoleum had been located.
A broken marker is seen, but no indication of a grave there.
The sloping crevice where Jim knew the mausoleum to be located years ago.
That's not a ghost in the background, it's me!
We didn't see an office in the cemetery, where we could inquire about this lost crypt. When we checked at the town hall, nobody there seemed to know anything.
All the same, we think it's a neat little mystery!

If anyone knows what happened to this hilltop mausoleum, or any history behind it and it's disappearance,
please feel free to contact us
Thanks!
