Andice :
Andice "Blue Light" Cemetery:
Legend has it that the cry of a baby has been heard here, and sightings of a dancing blue light have been seen, along with feelings of being watched. An additional name for this cemetery is Pilot Knob. Located .2 (that's point two) miles west of Andice on FM 970.

Anson :
  Anson Cemetery and Ghost Lights:

According to legend, during the Great Depression, a young child wandered from its home on a cold wintry night. The frantic mother searched along the road, holding aloft a lantern to light her way. The child was never found, supposedly frozen to death. To this day the spirit of the distraught mother still searches for her child. The Anson Ghost Light runs along Highway 180 next to the cemetery. Witnesses have reported that a bright light travels along the road, swinging like a pendulum, as if an unseen hand is carrying it.

Aurora :
Aurora Cemetery and Alien Burial ground:
Although this cemetery contains the oldest known graves dating back to the 1860s, it is better known as the burial place of an alien pilot whose ship crashed there in 1897. A historical marker mentions the word "Spaceship" but the marker for the space visitor was stolen long ago, so no one knows exactly where the grave is located. It's supposed to be hoax but no one knows for sure. A serial killer is buried there. The scene of orbs and ecotplasmic occurances. (thanks Janet, for submitting this info).

Beaumont :
  Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery:

There's been alot of lore about the kissing statues here. Probably an optical illusion, but people have claimed to shine car lights on the statute, and they will embrace some more and kiss eachother.

Blooming Grove :
  Lone Oak Cemetery:

This cemetery is located along a dirt road. Whispering voices and metallic sounds have been heard.

Dallas :
   Cox Cemetery:
Located in White Rock Lake, this cemetery is supposedly 'very' haunted. We can't find any other information other than that, and of course about the Lady of the Lake which has also been seen near this cemetery.

Cason :
Slaton Cemetery - More Blue Lights:

Dancing blue lights, cold spots felt on hot days (or hot nights), bushes moving violently when there are no breezes, and the report of someone being pulled into the cemetery by an unseen force.

Edom:
   Edom Cemetery:

The cemetery has alot of Civil War graves. After midnight, lights have been seen in the old section.

El Paso : (two listed here):
  Concordia Cemetery:

There is a section of this cemetery where children were buried after dying in the smallpox epidemic. At two or three in the morning, the sounds of children laughing can be heard. The voices of Calvary soldiers can also be heard along with the hoofbeats of their horses.

Evergreen Cemetery:
A young boy, standing on the sidewalk, apparently asking for a ride during early morning hours, has been sighted. Near the railroad tracks behind the cemetery, a strong mist can be seen at times, accompanied by a strong smell.

Eustace :
Goshen Cemetery:
"The Goshen Cemetery is said to be haunted with a witch and orbs". (via E-mail)

Galveston :
   Old City Cemetery :

Orbs have been photographed here. Supposedly the ghost of Nicaraugua Smith haunts the cemetery each January 8th, screaming and cursing the Confederate States rifle guard, whose firing squad executed him. Claims are that he is buried in an unmarked grave.

Grand Prairie: (Three listed):
   Confederate Graveyard:
We were told that a man owns this land but lives deep into the cemetery, and there are 'No Trespassing' signs posted.
Supposedly, late at night a red light can be seen but if you get close to it, it will vanish. Other reports include voices being heard, cold spots, gunshots, screaming male voices, flashing lights.

Estes Cemetery:
Full of mostly women and young children, strange lights have been seen over gravestones at night, sounds of laughter.

Grand Prairie Memorial Cemetery:
Blue lights and a girl in a long white dress has been seen running across the road, then disappears.

Houston: (six listed here) :
    Addicks Bear Creek Cemetery:

Fenced and padlocked, we didn't hear anything else about this one aside from that.

   Alief Cemetery:

The apartment complex whose property overlaps this cemetery is rumored to be haunted by the cemetery's inhabitants. Yet another place that is not safe for night ghosthunting even in groups, because of local gang activity. During daytime, go in groups as well.

   Beeler Family Cemetery
:
Very small but supposedly has unmarked graves outside the walls of the cemetery, which usually signifies 'shame' or those too sinful to be buried inside. A man supposedly haunts the outside of this cemetery, possibly more spirits here too.

   Glenwood Cemetery
:
Located on Washington Avenue, Glenwood boasts 60 acres of monuments and elaborate mausoleums. Howard Hughes is buried here. A reader tells us that this cemetery is not the place to be at night (it closes at 5 for one thing) and due to the neighborhood, not too safe to be there alone either at night or daytime.

  Hillendahl Cemetery:
Blue lights seem to be popular at a few cemeteries since this one also has blue lights glowing from the graves at night.

   Woodlawn Cemetery
:
Another reader informed us that ghosthunting at night is not advisable because of security cameras and gates that are closed at night. It is privately owned and managed.

Huntsville :
Oakwood Cemetery
:
The large statue of Jesus (once bronze but black over time from weathering), is supposed to move his hands from the palms up position to palms down, or vice versa. It is also said that the eyes 'follow' people walking near it. Quite an imposing figure to see on a moonlit night.

Jacksonville :
   Jacksonville City Cemetery:

A statue by the name of Mother Templeton supposedly changes positions during the full moon. Individuals claim to see her holding a bible in her hands, flowers, or moving the position of her hands in general.

Kilgore :
Danville Cemetery - Karen Silkwood's glowing grave
:
Now this is something we would love to see! Rumor has it that Karen Silkwood's grave emits a faint glow, or a light greenish mist over it.

La Feria :

Restlawn Cemetery (Memorial Park) :
"People living across the street frequently saw 'La Llonera" dressed in a long white gown, seen mostly after midnight running around the cemetery." (via E-mail).

Leming :
   Tumlinson Cemetery :

"The old folks would talk about feuding up there and around it". (via email)

Liberty Hill:
   Bittick Cemetery:

Home of the infamous "Witch Grave", the burial spot of Elizabeth Simpson (a reader says the stone reads "Elizbeth"). It is said that if you don't leave a small offering (change, flowers) something devastating will happen to you. Local legend also says that she was a slave who had stolen a horse to escape, was captured and then hung from a tree.

Lewisville:
  Smith Cemetery:

Lone visitors have reported the feeling that they are not alone, also experiencing feelings of being watched within the cemetery.

Maxdale:
   Maxdale Cemetery:

Haunted by the ghost of an old man who walks with a limp. Some say he was the caretaker of the cemetery. Before the cemetery there is a small iron bridge. It is said that if you stop on the bridge, turn off your car headlights and count to ten, you will see a man hanging from a noose. He supposedly committed suicide because he could not save his girlfriend who had drowned under that bridge.  A phantom truck has also claimed to have been seen.

McKinney:
   Ross Cemetery:

One of the oldest cemeteries in McKinney, located behind Pecan Grove Historical Cemetery. It has been said that EVP recordings tell of a voice that tells people to "Get Out", nausea has suddenly been felt by a few visitors. Alot of unmarked graves here, and some wooden markers.

Pirtle:
   Pirtle Cemetery:

From what we've been told, the only thing that is left of Pirtle is the church and cemetery. Legend has it that a boy died and had been buried here. Since the boy had been terrified of the dark , the mother would sit at his grave each night for the next year, holding a lantern. After her death, people would report seeing a lantern light appearing in the far corner of the cemetery.

Rowlett:

Chiesa Road Cemetery:
A very small cemetery containing approximately 64 graves. A new housing complex has been built behind it. The only occurance that happened when I visited this place was that my digital recorder refused to work, when it had been working five minutes before I entered the cemetery.

Sachse:

Pleasant Valley Cemetery:
We have not experienced any paranormal activity when we visited, and none has been reported to us. This cemetery has been designated as a historical site. Many pioneers who came here from Kentucky in 1854 are buried here. Victims of the 1918 Spanish Flu Epidemic are also interred here, as well as Soledy Newman, a 13 year old girl, whose father donated the land to be used as a cemetery. She is the first recorded burial here.

San Antonio :
   Chinese Cemetery
:
There are "No Trespassing" signs posted, including a sign that reads "No Witchcraft". We've been told that people will pull up at night, turn off the car, open their windows and flash the car headlights five times. White figures will begin to run around, and the sound of voices can be heard. Very small cemetery.

Scottsville :
   Scottsville Cemetery
:
A large house used to stand at the top of a hill, but burned down about 40 years ago. However, the stairs to the house are still there, and those who climbed those stairs have heard the sound of a woman's mournful crying, but the cries would come from a spring house located at the bottom of the hill.

Springtown :
   Veal Station Cemetery
:
The cemetery is chained at night as of recently, most likely because local news reported a glowing gravestone there. Then we received a report that the stone had been stolen some time ago. Possibly an urban legend of this 'glowing stone', but we're including it here anyway. If anyone does know if the stone was stolen,
please do let us know!

Thurber :
   Thurber Cemetery
:
Now a ghost town, Thurber's cemetery is still there, which contains a large number of children who died before the age of two. Death certificates of the era state causes of death as either "natural causes" or common childhood illnesses. Seems strange that so many children died in that one town. It is said that those who pass through this cemetery late at night can see small children walking among the headstones.

Wylie : (Three listed here) :
    Hughes Cemetery:
Located on East Oak Street,  this small cemetery is on a quiet residential street. While we did capture some very good EVP recordings (a few voices sounded very grumpy too!), we also captured the voice of a young child. No paranormal activity concerning this cemetery has been reported to us however, nor did we experience anything 'unusual' while we visited there, except for some very strong feelings Jim had, while next to the final resting place of a young girl.
Our investigation is documented here.

   Wylie Cemetery:
One of our web visitors wrote to tell us of their visit to this place, located on Fifth Street.  They felt as if they were being watched when no one was around, the sound of heavy footsteps were heard, and someone felt an unseen presence rush by her, on a very calm, windless day.
We have investigated this cemetery a few years ago, but found nothing out of the ordinary....except that my tape recorder (which was in perfect working condition with fully charged batteries) refused to work, and then began to operate normally when we left the cemetery.

Our second investigation on Nov. 14, 2006 is documented here.

  Cottonwood Cemetery:
We investigated this cemetery in 2006, and obtainted a recording of a woman's voice. Jim felt there was certain paranormal activity at one family plot here, but we could not enter this cemetery as it is owned by a church, and permission to enter must be granted by calling a phone number that is posted on a sign at the locked gates. Since we were not about to contact a church to ask permission to conduct paranormal research on their burial grounds, we stood outside the fence taking photos and making recordings. If you decide to investigate this cemetery, please respect the posted signs, and don't jump over the fence. (yes, this is our disclaimer !)
Update 2009: Having obtained permission to enter the cemetery, our latest investigation wielded nothing of a paranormal nature. Because of past vandalism, security cameras have been installed, so treat the cemetery (and its residents) respectfully when visiting.

We invite you to tell us of any cemeteries that aren't listed here, or updates and stories of the above mentioned graveyards.
