Jacksonville ~ Killough Monument and Cemetery:
Killough Monument was the site of an Indian Massacre in the 1800's. The rumor is that a tremendous sense of sadness can be felt when walking in the area. There have been reports of people seeing a mysterious fog and the sighting of a Cherokee warrior. (Thank you, Mike, for this info!)
The Handbook of Texas Online also has a historical article about the story of the massacare located here. If you visit the monument and cemetery, please remember that it is a memorial and treat it respectfully.

McKinney ~
McKinney Public Library:
Not much is documented about this except that book have been misplaced, bookcases knocked over, money taken out of a register.

McKinney ~ Buffalo Joes, (Now The Londoner Pub):
When it was Buffalo Joes, a playful spirit occupied the storage area. Toilet paper would be rolled out, forks pinned into walls. Supposedly this was the site of a former brothel when McKinney was first founded.

McKinney ~ Old Court House:
A lady in white is said to be seen at night, looking out the window. Rumors claim she hung herself in the late 1800s.

Mesquite ~ Old Holloman's Road:
A small dirt road that curves between Lawson Rd and Bruton Rd. The site of a lone abandoned home, supposedly the only structure on that road. The road is claimed to be blocked off, and those who walk on this road speak of feeling dread and of being watched. This road was also the scene where a mother and her 5 year old son were murdered in 1981.

Mesquite ~ Trail Dust Steak House, or Red Barn Restaurant ?
We're not sure if the name of the Trail Dust Steak House has changed (sorry, we don't get out to Mesquite often!), but when it was the Trail Dust, stories of a ghost by the name of John Brown haunted the place. He supposedly died when falling to the dance floor while working on a railing above the dance floor. John had a favorite table (#218) and would turn the light on above that table after other lights have been turned off. Phones ring off the hook, doors swing by themselves, printers start printing by themselves, and footsteps have been heard on the dance floor.

San Antonio ~ The Ghost Tracks:
Another infamous story of a school bus full of children that tragicallly died when the bus got stuck on the railroad tracks, then was hit by a train. If you stop your car before the tracks and put your car into neutral, spirit children will push your car off of the tracks. People have sprinkled powder on their bumpers and found small hand prints. All of the streets in the surrounding neighborhood are named after children.

San Antonio ~ Espada Park :
According to legend, railroad tracks here are supposed to be haunted by children who were hit by a train while riding in a bus. As with the Ghost Track legend, if you park your car near the tracks, the spirit kids push the car to safety.

San Antonio ~ Aqueduct Ghost:
By the Stenson Airport on Mission Road, supposedly a woman had a baby that wouldn't stop crying, so she drowned it. People have heard her crying, and some have seen a woman walking to the water carrying a white bundle in her arms.
(Thanks Kaylee!)

San Marcos ~ Pike House, not your typical "Animal House" frat house:
Burned down April 9, 2007, by arsonists.
Built in 1903 as a boy's dormitory for the Cornwell Institue which later became a memorial hospital and then a Frat House in 1968, local legends claim that either one pledge o a group of pledges had been killed there. Burned remnants of pledge books are supposedly nailed to the walls, along with bloody splatters and bloodied handprints adorning the walls. Crime scene tape was left there as well. In reality, it was just a very cool and intriguing place to explore. For some beautiful photos of the exterior of this building and the grounds before jackasses burned it down,
check out this web page.

Stanton ~ St. Joseph Convent:
There is the story of a nun who was possessed by the devil and killed children in the basement. The ghost of the nun haunts the convent and the cemetery. Some report hearing babies crying at night, who were buried under the convent. Lights have been seen turning off and on at night, a priest who hung himself after being accused of a crime haunts there as well, and the sound of weeping nuns have been heard. The convent and an academy were abandoned in 1938 when a tornado blew through. All that remains are the dormitory, ruins of other buildings, and the cemetery.

Tomball ~ Spring Creek Park:
The site of a munitions plant that had exploded and killed 200 men during the Civil War, people have written to tell us of hearing sounds of muted explosions, and it wasn't thunder.

Waco ~ The Hanging Tree:
The hanging tree is located near Cameron Park. It has been said that if you are driving down that road late at night, you can see a shadowy figure hanging from the tree, but it's always too late to stop before hitting it. The figure is said to go over the roof of your car, bu nothing is really there when you get out to investigate. Police have also experienced this, including a broken car antenna. This tree was supposedly used to hang slaves and criminals back in the day. (Thanks to JC for this info)

Woodville ~ Foster Hill:
The sight of a ghostly man has been witnessed. Others have heard footsteps following them. There has also been heard the sound of drums, as if Native American druns were beating in the distance.
